welp

welp. I haven't "blogged" in awhile so i will update briefly since i have given out the blog address now to a number of family and friends i feel i should update now and again. the blogging schedule will most likely be pretty scarce until we leave, so don't bother checking this thing very often until February. I have been periodically checking a few blogs of current PC volunteers in central America and they are quite interesting, some of them very profound, and some of them make you think the arduous application process could stand to be a little more arduous (i am not sure how that is possible). here is a sight where any interested parties can check out PC online journals -

Take a look and see what you think a few people explain how things are working pretty well and they give a pretty good insight into what is going on and the challenges that are faced.

I have added some links to the page. one of them is a state dep. pub. on Honduras if anyone wants to know how much bananas are exported and what the population is and such. also there are some ag and engineering links as well that i find interesting if folks want to look at them.

Intro

well. this is our blog. hopefully it will be a useful tool in communicating with folks at home while we are gone. i have been reading a few other blogs of peace corps volunteers and this seems to be the most popular and easiest way of communication. Most likely Annie and i will both be using this blog address, but I also may set up seperate ones if it turns out we have the resources to update the pages often. if that is the case i will post links on this blog to the others.

as far as when we leave. we are required to be in DC on teh 12th of february for orientation of some sort. and we fly to Tegucigalpa on the 14th of February. Should be exciting. Hopefully there will be a few other water and sanitation engineers at my level of spanish (very limited), and i can pick the lengua up quickly. I have a feeling that initially spanish is going to be a major barrier for me.
